From my Art-chive…
We all want to break free from things sometimes. As I go through my old art, making sure all the images are in the best formats, I sometimes think about how much my style has developed, and sometimes I wonder how anyone could find my art good. But really, when I look at a piece like this, where I just whipped it out quickly, an idea to go with the prompt, it reminds me of the value of sketching and thinking through the idea. There are definitely things I would change if I were to work out an in-depth art piece, but either way, I love the idea behind it. We need the idea phase of work to develop the full idea in a way that makes sense. It is amazing how an idea that is just a quick sketch can inspire other things even years later. I hope you all are having a wonderful week, and if you’re in the northern hemisphere, that you’re keeping cool as we hit the full-blown summer months.

‘This Is the End of Coal in Ireland’: Country Shuts Down Last Plant Ahead of Schedule

Ireland has shut down its last and largest coal-fired power plant a full six months ahead of schedule. The plant will continue to run with oil as the primary fuel source until 2029, which does indicate that there is further to go before the country really switches over to clean energy. However, the ending of coal as the power source is still a huge win and step in the right direction.
